First, I was able
to send out surveys to faculty and staff finding out about current perspectives
toward campus technology programs and student needs. Faculty and staff were very helpful. This
helped me get a great start.
Survey Questions
How do you feel
about the use of technology and the growth of technology in our society?
What current
technology programs are you using in your classroom?
What types of
technology would you like to see used in your school in the future?
Do you believe
technology helps increase student performance? If so, how have you witnessed
it?
What is an
approximate percentage of students who are economically disadvantaged in your
individual classroom?
How many students
in your room have access to the internet at home?
How easily
accessible is technology in your school?
The next phase was
the research phase. During this phase, I did a lot of interviews and
researching information/pulling data. I
was able to interview the curriculum coordinator, parental involvement coordinator,
assistant principal, interim principal, counselor, librarian, president of the
PTA, and many more. I found that as you start talking to more and more people
then someone always has a small piece to add. I also found out how to pull
local community information and campus online data in relation to demographics.
I was able to research various partnerships with the district as well as many
technology resources and programs to share with faculty and staff. I researched
the benefits of technology for economically disadvantaged students and put this
information together in one general report. The final part of this project is presenting
the information to faculty, staff, and other stakeholders.
